Welcome to the Abergaveny Building & the Cycle section,

Our theme for 2012 follows the country's celebration of Her Majesty the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

Our Theme is "By Royal Appointment".

Since the Dawn of Cycling and before the advent of the Motorcar, cycling was taken up by the Royalty & well to do as well  the lower classes.

Many company's vied for the Royal Warrant.
King's, Queen's, Princes, Crown Princes, and Emperor's all had there Marquee's. Great Britain's Cycling Manufacturers' led the way.

See how many makes there were in this field & look at how many Car Manufacturers' Started life as cycle makers!
Sadly the Cycle & Car makers have gone, but the legacy lives on!

Chris Wright also Celebrates Cycling Proficiency with his display, which I'm sure you children ( both young & old ), will enjoy..

Don't miss the rest of the collection, which span the age of Cycling.

We do hope you will linger and feel free to ask any questions,
