I received the following query. Please reply to the webmaster if you have any knowledge of it...

One of my late grandfather's cars was auctioned at the showground by Sotheby's on 5th July 1980(name of purchaser withheld by webmaster).

I am attempting to locate the car; subsequent to the auction, the car was seen being used as a wedding car, with a reception at Brighton and Hove airport, so this leads me to believe that the car was owned by a local person.

I have a poor photocopy of the car taken then.

The car in question is :
Lancia DiLambda saloon, Weymann body in grey over black.
Registration number: HX 1676
Date of first registration: 12th November 1930.

It may now be part of a collection.....and may well still be in the area.
It was purchased new by my grandfather and was still in his garage when he passed away in 1961.

Any help or suggestions would be gratefully received, and duly acknowleged.
